1. Gender:

2. Age:

Women older than 50 years are at more risk of getting affected by breast cancer. In fact, from age 30 to 39, 1 out of 228 women can suffer from this disease. Even though, at the age of 60, the risk of developing breast cancer jumps to 1 out of 29 women generally.

3. Inheritance:

If your family members, especially a first-degree relative (i.e. mother, sister or daughter) has had breast cancer. Then you could be at greater risk of developing this disease. 

Although, if you have multiple relatives who suffered from breast or ovarian cancer before getting older than 50 years, then you might also get affected  by the same ailment.

4. Exposure Of Chest To Radiation:

If you ever had radiation therapy to the chest area as a child or young adult as treatment for another cancer significantly. Then it might increase the chances of risk factor for breast cancer. 

The increase in risk seems to be highest if the radiation was given while the breasts are in the developing mode (especially during the teenage). 

5. Excessive Estrogen:

6. Pregnancy And Breast Feeding:

Women who have never had a full-term pregnancy after the age of 30, have increased risk of developing breast cancer. Especially, if they continue to breastfeed for 1 and a half to 2 years then they might get exposure of increased risk potentials. 

However, for many women, it is neither possible nor practical to pursue breastfeeding for this long time period.
